DALLAS — Dallas Fire-Rescue on Monday named the firefighter who was injured battling a two-alarm house fire on Saturday.

Jeffrey Patterson remains hospitalized recovering from injuries suffered in the fire in the 4700 block of Chilton Drive. Sources told News 8 he suffered burns over 35 to 40 percent of his body and was being treated at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

"Jeff’s wife and family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, warm words and wishes," said fire department spokesman Jason Evans in a written statement Monday.

Evans said Patterson's family does not wish to release any official information about his condition or the fire station where he works.

Saturday's two-alarm fire gutted the one-story residence on Chilton Drive. Three people who were at home when the fire broke out all escaped safely.
