DALLAS — A Dallas city street could finally bear the name of Latino civil rights leader Cesar Chavez.
This week, City Council members are expected to approve renaming South Central Expressway for Chavez. The name change would only cover a few blocks.
Over the past few years, activists have failed in attempts to rename Ross Avenue and Industrial Boulevard (now Riverfront Boulevard) in honor of the civil rights leader.
