DALLAS - Emergency calls released Friday showed the frustration DART passengers went through when they were stranded in the dark for hours on St. Patrick's Day after a bomb scare on a TRE line.
"We've been out here about 40 minutes and nobody has gotten here," one caller told 911.
The dispatcher said his computer showed that police had been sent.
"I do show them out there and they do have the bomb dogs and everything headed out that way now," the dispatcher said.
But it appears those officers were sent to check out the train, not help the passengers. So, the woman called again.
"I'm looking at the police about a mile away," she said. "They're not even over here where we are."
"And this is at a train station?" asked the dispatcher.
"No, it's not a train station, we're off in the middle of nowhere," the caller said.
DART admitted more should have been done to help the stranded passengers and is taking steps to improve communication.
They are also installing electronic message boards at train stations that can be used to communicate when there is a disruption.
