ROCKWALL -- New details were released Friday in the death of a 15-year-old Rockwall girl.

Court documents detailed Surie Baeza's murder.

A probable cause complaint states Baeza and her mother's estranged boyfriend, Juan Torres, were fighting over a ring. Police say he confessed to them that he became enraged, "...hitting, Surie Baeza in the head with a wooden closet rod, stabbing her repeatedly with a kitchen knife and locking Surie's body in her room."

A friend of Juan Torres talked to News 8. He said around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the day of the murder, he saw Torres' car at the girl's home.

"I saw the car, the door was open. I figured he was inside," said the friends, who did not want to be identified.

Police say after Torres allegedly killed Baeza, he cleaned up the crime scene. Then, Torres "took the items he had collected from the home and disposed of them in a dumpster in Dallas," according to the documents.

Torres' friend said he had recently been fired and was acting weird.

"He seemed out of it, disoriented, scruffy -- he hadn't shaved," he told us. "He seemed in a bad mood all the time. He didn't seem right."

Police say initially Torres was brought in for questioning and held on traffic warrants. After a night in jail, he allegedly called police saying he wanted to talk, and in the course of questioning gave a written confession. He's being held on a $1 million bond.
