Crane collapse
RICHARDSON — Workers on Sunday began removing the crane that collapsed on the University of Texas at Dallas campus three weeks ago.
The crane fell in strong winds, killing two construction workers at the site next to the UTD library.
The library was scheduled to be closed until noon Monday — or until the crane can be removed.
Nearby tennis courts will also be off-limits during the operation. The university asked students, faculty, staff and visitors to avoid the southeast sector of the campus while the work is under way.
