FORT WORTH - A group in Fort Worth gathered this morning at a North Texas Chick-fil-A in support of the company.

At 11:30 a.m., a contingent of supporters from the Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary converged on the Chick-fil-A at Altamesa Boulevard and McCart Avenue.

Dan Cathy recently told the Baptist Press Chick-fil-A supports the biblical definition of the family unit. Many perceived his statements as anti same sex marriage, which drew harsh criticism and calls for boycotts.

Former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee launched a nationwide "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" to show support for the fast food chain.

The Fort Worth seminary was set to buy more than 200 sandwiches to do just that.

On Thursday, there will be be another group showing up at Chick-fil-A  restaurants across the nation to share a different message. Same sex couples plant to visit restaurants for a public display of affection.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation is asking participants to take and post photos to the Internet.
