GRAND PRAIRIE — A pickup truck crashed into a Grand Prairie donut shop Friday morning, injuring a teacher.
Police said the 78-year-old driver — who is a regular customer — apparently hit the gas instead of the brake and plowed into the Donut Time shop at 1012 North Carrier Parkway just before 10 a.m.
The incident was captured on security camera footage provided by Stealth Monitoring Inc.
Three teachers from the nearby Crosswinds High School were inside at the time. Two managed to jump out of the way, but the third was struck and taken to Arlington Memorial Hospital with a possible broken hip.
The unnamed driver was not injured, and police do not expect to bring charges against him.
Building owner Michael Zimmerman said the accident destroyed the donut shop's counter and resulted in at least $5,000 damage.
