D/FW AIRPORT -- Just in from California, 15-year-old Jarod Robinson is here to spend the holidays with his mom.

"This is what it's all about," said Stormi Robinson, Jarod's mother.

Stormi's son, JR, and his wife, and daughter are in from Virginia, and Stormi's daughter, Jaleesa, is on break from UNT.

"It's all I wanted," Stormi said. "I just wanted us all to be together for Christmas."

Stormi Robinson is battling Stage 4 stomach cancer. Her cancer is in remission, and it has changed how she sees the holidays and life.

"I've always been there, but I don't know that I've always been present," she said. "Now I'm more present to them than I probably ever have been before."

The gifts and presents are not what the next five days together will be about.

"You just don't know what life is going to hand you everyday," Stormi said. "So I try to tell everybody to truly enjoy what you have, because people normally don't realize it until it's too late."

After a difficult year, the true miracle of the season is having Mom be the gift -- being present.

"I have everybody and I couldn't ask for anything else," Stormi Robinson said.
