DALLAS — A six-year-old boy drowned in an apartment swimming pool in North Oak Cliff on Friday night.
Dallas police spokesman Senior Cpl. Kevin Janse said several dozen people surrounded Jamarion Russell at 9:35 p.m. as civilians attempted to revive him at the pool in the 2500 block of Alpaca Pass.
Officers quickly stepped in to help before Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedics arrived to take the child to nearby Dallas Methodist Medical Center.
Jamarion was pronounced dead at the hospital.
