POSSUM KINGDOM LAKE -- The Brazos River Authority confirmed Thursday Jacob Logan's body was recovered from Possum Kingdom Lake at 9:21 p.m.

Logan has been missing since Sunday afternoon, when he jumped into the lake off a cliff with a friend. Several organizations have been searching the lake for him ever since, but the search was slowed by debris under the surface and deep waters.

The waters in the area Logan dove into can go range in depth from 25-to-80 feet.

Logan was a star receiver at Coppell High School. Thursday night, Coppell Head Football Coach Joe McBride tweeted "Jacob has been found... have peace and get sleep. Tomorrow the sun will be up and we WILL have great day!"

The Coppell Cowboys are one of the top teams in the state this year at 6-0.

"He's going to be in our heart, and we're going to hurt," McBride told us earlier this week. "There are going to be times when we think about him and tear up, and we're going to have moments, but we want to move on with him. The kids saw a great mentor and example in Jacob Logan, and our kids know we need to honor him by living the way he did."

Logan appeared on WFAA's High School Sports Special one week before he went missing.

But Logan was more than a football player to many in the community.

"He was really not just the best in sports... he was like the best in everything." said friend Josh Self.

Austin Fuerst attended church with Jacob.

"Everybody knows that Jacob is a great Christian, strong Christian guy, and we all know that he's going to be in a better place," he said. "I know everybody can hang in there and get through this together."

Logan's sister, Jordan, said her brother "won the race to see Jesus."

On the "Stay Strong Coppell" Facebook page, they took comfort in the fact Logan's body was discovered at 9:21 p.m., or in military time, 21:21. Jacob Logan wore No. 21 for the Cowboys.

The death is the second at Coppell High School in the last week.

The body will be transported to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office. More information will be released Friday morning.

An account for the benefit of the Logan family has been set up at Frost Bank at 102 North Denton Tap Road in Coppell. The account number is 952050293.
