AUBREY — More than 200 young people gathered in Aubrey Saturday night to remember a lost classmate, even as investigators try to determine why he died.
The students held a candlelight vigil at Aubrey High school for Ryan White. The 18-year-old senior was killed Friday when his pickup truck collided with a tractor on the side of a road.
It is still unclear why White's vehicle crossed the center line on FM 428 and veered directly into the tractor.
Classmates are struggling with White's loss just two months before graduation.
"He was a big teddy bear, probably one of the goofiest people I have ever met," said fellow student John Miller. "He always had a big smile on his face that made everyone else smile, too."
Aubrey High School students are using social media to spread the word of another tribute. They are asking their AHS classmates to wear white on Monday to honor Ryan White.
