WAXAHACHIE — Authorities have confirmed one person was injured after a pipe burst in the 500 block of Brown Industrial Road in Waxahachie.

CareFlite transported the worker to a nearby hospital just before 5:30 p.m. from Oak Cliff Metal, where the accident occurred.

The worker was cutting into the pipe when it burst in his face, said Amy Hollywood, a spokeswoman with Waxahachie Emergency Management. Hollywood said metal flew into the employee's face. The worker suffered injuries to his face. His condition is not known.
