ARLINGTON — Arlington ISD is warning parents about an E. coli bacteria scare.
California-based Huntington Meat Packing Inc. is recalling meat used inside taco rolls because of possible E. coli contamination. The U.S. Department of Agriculture says it is a Class I recall, which means "there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death."
The item was last served district-wide on February 3, but some individual campuses have served it since then.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, someone can show symptoms from E. coli in as little as one day or as long as 10 days.
The CDC says an E. coli bacteria infection can result in diarrhea, urinary tract infection, respiratory illness and pneumonia, and other sicknesses.
