Services set for Little Elm teen killed in tollway crash

LITTLE ELM - Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon for Kara Taylor, the Little Elm teen who who died in a violent accident on the Dallas North Tollway early Sunday morning

The memorial for the Little Elm High School junior will take place at 2 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, in Frisco. Visitation is pending.

Kara died after her sport utility vehicle was struck head-on by a pickup truck going the wrong way on the tollway near the Main Street exit in Frisco. Charges against the driver of the pickup, 24-year-old Mariza Martinez of Dallas, are pending.

At the request of Kara's family, Little Elm High School will be open following Wednesday's service to let students, staff and community members meet with grief counselors.
