DALLAS - It is a tradition that "Texas Journey Magazine" listed as a top Texas sight worth seeing during the Christmas season.

The Candlelight Celebration at Dallas Heritage Village is happening this week.

This is the 41st year that this event has taken place and this year's theme is "Timeless Treats" in celebration of tastes of the past.

So those heading to the two day celebration will be treated to items on historic menus inside a historic atmosphere.

The 41ST Annual Candlelight Celebration at Dallas Heritage Village kicks off Saturday from 3pm-9pm. And the celebration will continue on Sunday with the same hours.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children.

Molasses Ginger Cookies featured in this segment

(It is adapted from King Arthur Flour, with sorghum syrup.)

1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup sorghum syrup
2 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 large eggs
3 1/2 all purpose flour

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease two baking sheets.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until they're light and fluffy. Beat in the sorghum, baking soda, salt, and spices.
Add the eggs, beating well. Slowly stir in the flour in batches. Scoop the soft dough into 1 ½" balls. Space the cookies on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 ½" between them.  Bake them for 10 minutes. The centers will look soft and puffy; that's OK.  Remove the cookies from the oven, and cool them on the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a rack to cool completely.
