SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A former Army sergeant has been sentenced in federal court to 28 years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge that she recorded herself having sex with her 3-year-old son.

The San Antonio Express-News (http://bit.ly/1egDx7g ) reports that 25-year-old Kimberly Epperson was sentenced Friday. She accepted a plea deal that set the range of punishment between 15 and 30 years in prison for one count of production of child pornography.

The charge was related to videos and pictures she sent to former boyfriend, 26-year-old Wade Allen Perkins, also a former Army sergeant. Epperson met him while they were stationed at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.

In October, Perkins was sentenced to 30 years in prison for his role in the assaults.
