FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Federal authorities in North Texas say two people forced a 15-year-old girl to work as a prostitute for five months before she was able to flee.
A federal count of sex trafficking of a child was filed against 27-year-old Deundrea R. Miller of Fort Worth and 21-year-old Brittanie S. Brattain of the Fort Worth suburb of Saginaw.
They remained in custody Thursday. If convicted they each face a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports (http://bit.ly/ZfIRSM ) the pair advertised the girl on the Internet using photos of her clad only in underwear. She worked as a prostitute from September to January before running away.
Miller and Brattain have not entered pleas and attorneys for them declined comment Thursday.
