DALLAS - A crash involving at least one 18-wheeler and two other vehicles led to traffic congestion in both the southbound and northbound lanes on the Dallas North Tollway at LBJ Freeway Thursday morning.
All lanes were clear, but there was still some backup as rush hour traffic hit the area around 5 p.m.
All northbound lanes were closed as an overturned 18-wheeler has blocked traffic. One lane was open southbound and the entrance from LBJ Freeway northbound to the Dallas North Tollway was also closed.
The wreck happened as an 18-wheeler was heading northbound on the Dallas North Tollway when the vehicle appeared to have hit the divider in the far left lane. The divider was pushed into the southbound lane, which led to a vehicle driving on that side to wreck.
The 18-wheeler overturned, crushing a vehicle underneath and spilling diesel fuel onto the toll road. Despite the car appearing to be severely crushed, the 49-year-old male driver was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Dallas Fire-Rescue reported.
