Next year's Super Bowl in Arlington is getting tens of millions of dollars from taxpayers, because of its supposed economic impact.

The predictions come from an economic consultant whose predictions are never checked.

Several economists say the impact of such events is either minimal or non existent.

It turns out the Super Bowl is not the only event that gets your money on unproven economic assumptions.
