NEWS 8 INVESTIGATES
DALLAS — After two weeks of trying, Dallas County officials on Wednesday allowed News 8 and County Commissioner Maureen Dickey to see three mobile satellite communication units that were being kept in an off-site warehouse.
The emergency gear was purchased from a close friend of Commissioner John Wiley Price in 2005, but has been mothballed for almost a year.
The county used $600,000 in federal grant money to purchase and maintain the equipment.
News 8 has learned that certain county purchases are part of an ongoing FBI investigation.
