West Nile virus cases surging in North Texas

West Nile virus cases are spreading even further in North Texas.

Midlothian has reported its first human case. Someone from the Honeysuckle Estates area told the city a relative is in the hospital being treated right now.

The city said it has not yet received official confirmation of the diagnosis from the health department.

As of Friday, there were 82 confirmed cases of West Nile virus in Dallas County and a total of 174 cases after adding Tarrant, Collin, and Denton counties.
