McKinney health officials have confirmed the city's first human case of West Nile virus.
The city will spray an area to eradicate disease-carrying mosquitoes between 10 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday. Signs will be posted at major intersections to notify residents of spraying activity and information.
Pets in the affected area should be kept inside during the operation.
While plans for aerial mosquito spraying are being worked out, Dallas County is going ahead with an intense ground spraying effort Monday through Wednesday in parts of North Dallas, Northeast Dallas, Old East Dallas and Lakewood.
If you live in those areas, be sure to keep pets indoors after 10 p.m.
