CARROLLTON — The City of Carrollton was getting so many calls into City Hall from citizens with West Nile virus questions that they set up a hotline.

It's updated weekly with the number of cases, and where the city is spraying.

Currently, Carrollton has 12 confirmed human cases.

They don't spray entire zip codes, but only areas where infected victims live or where mosquitoes test positive for the virus.

"There is concern we are heading into the peak of mosquito season, so we all have to remain vigilant and stay the course, just continue to work hard at it," said the city's animal services manager Carl Shooter.

The Carrollton West Nile hotline is 972-466-3202. The line is open 24 hours a day with the latest information on the outbreak in that community.
