Cities across North Texas are responding to a call for blood donations from the American Red Cross.

The organization says it is dangerously close to just a one-day supply of blood by the end of next week.

In response, residents in Dallas and The Colony are rolling up their sleeves.  Both cities hosted blood drives on Monday.

The Red Cross is asking for all types of donors, but says type O-negative is most in demand because that blood can go to anyone in need.

You can find the closest place to donate by clicking on link to the right of this article.
