FORT WORTH — A funding fight with Planned Parenthood may have caused more backlash for Saturday's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Fort Worth.
Organizers say about 11,000 runners took part in the event, down from 13,800 last year.
This was the organization's first Fort Worth race since Dallas-based Komen withdrew funding for breast cancer screenings by Planned Parenthood.
Komen later reversed its decision in the wake of public outrage.
