Al Jackson's graduation was a monumental moment in more ways than one.

Last October Jackson suffered a paralyzing injury while playing defense for his high school's homecoming football game.

Seven months later, he not only walked down the aisle to receive his diploma, he has also gotten back into running track. He even qualified for Regionals.

Jackson credits his neurosurgeon Dr. Rob Dickerman with his recovery after the two formed a special bond.

They, along with Jackson's mom Teri, spoke to News 8 Daybreak to share their story.
