MedStar: Heat calls up 12 percent over 2011

MedStar reports that the number of heat-related calls they’ve responded to this summer have increased by about 12 percent. In 2011, during the months of May through July, emergency crews responded to 131 heat calls. This year, in the same time period, they’ve responded to 150 calls.
