It's been added to Dallas' drinking water since the 1960s, and for now it looks like fluoride will keep flowing through our faucets.

On Tuesday a Dallas City Council member called the practice dangerous, and wants to try and get rid of fluoride in our water.

The council ended up siding with the water utility officials who say fluoride in the water is actually a public health benefit.

Dr. Lawrence Wolinsky with Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry stopped by our studios to give us some perspective.
