FORT WORTH - The first human case of West Nile virus in Tarrant County this year was confirmed Thursday.
It is the third North Texas county in which a human case has been discovered this month, after cases in Denton and Dallas counties.
No personal information is being reported in the case to protect confidentiality.
However the Tarrant County Public Health Department said mosquito samples have tested positive for West Nile virus five times. On June 5, a positive sample was found in Bedford, on June 12 two more positive were reported in Hurst, then on June 15 positive samples were reported in Euless and Richland Hills.
