DALLAS — Students in the Dallas ISD will notice some changes on the menu as they head to lunch today.
District officials say nutrition is much improved, with healthier food choices on the cafeteria menu.
More fresh fruits and vegetables are available, along with whole grain breads.
Dora Rivas, executive director of nutrition services, said DISD has been working hard to balance nutritious choices while making sure kids actually like the food.
Some foods have been scratched off the menu, including foods with high sugar. Also: There will be no more nachos offered to younger students.
