The Cooperative Extension Program of Prairie View A&M University is holding free Diabetes Education Awareness & Prevention (DEAP) workshops for residents of Dallas County from noon to 1 p.m. today at the Dallas Extension, 10056 Marsh Lane, Suite B-101. The series continues from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Both sessions will offer a final workshop on Nov. 17 and 18. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch and eat while they learn. CHECKUP: Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano hosts a health fair from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday with free blood pressure, body fat, lung volume, bone density and sleep disorder assessments, and sleep, osteoporosis and lung volume education.
