Poll:
If you found $10,000 in cash, would you keep it?

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - It's a story about two strangers and one incredible act of kindness That played out in the parking lot of a Sam's Club.

Mike Christensen accidentally forgot a bank bag containing $9,500 inside of a grocery cart after a night of shopping. He was using the money for a charity project.

The bank bag was found by store employee Kyle Gonzalez.

"[I thought] obviously, somebody needs this and I'm going to turn it in," Gonzalez said.

He was rounding up carts and saw it in the seat, and decided to give it to his boss, who managed to track Christensen down with the news.

"It makes your heart stop a minute," he said.

News 8 surprised Gonzalez at work on Tuesday, along with Christensen. It was the first time the two men had met.

"With the amount of money you found in here for the project I was working on, turning it in is definitely integrity on your part, and I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart," Christensen said.

Gonzalez would not have made the find if it weren't for a twist of fate.

"To be honest, I was supposed to have the day off, so I think things happen for a reason," Gonzalez said. "I just happened to be at the right place at the right time."

Two men now share a story of honesty that is an example for us all.
