Star is an active and playful Rottweiler-Labrador mix who needs a new home.

The one-year-old female is a medium-size dog who is sweet and affectionate, loves chew toys, and enjoys going on walks.

You will be able to find Star at the at the SPCA of Texas Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center at 2400 Lone Star Drive in West Dallas at noon Saturday. Call 214-742-7722 for more information about Star and the other dogs and cats available for adoption.

In celebration of National Pet Dental Health Month, the SPCA of Texas is offering specials at its clinics in Dallas and McKinney. Throughout the month of February, pets can receive a free toothbrush with each full exam, as well as 10 percent off of all dental product purchases and 10 percent off of dental services.

To receive 10 percent off of dental services, clients will need to schedule their pet’s appointment by the end of February.

Like humans, pets require regular dental care, too. The SPCA of Texas recommends that pets have their teeth brushed daily to remove any tartar or bacteria they may have in their mouth. If your pet does not like having its teeth brushed, there are several foods and treats that are designed to clean pet’s teeth while they eat.
