NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- A skunk found in North Richland Hills has tested positive for rabies.
The animal was found in the 7400 block of Continental Trail, near Bursey and Smithfield Roads, on May 14, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services Zoonosis Control.
The skunk was found by a resident and showed signs of having rabies, including crusty eyes and being disoriented.
Residents in the city are being reminded to vaccinate their pets, respect leash laws, avoid contact with wild animals, and to not touch injured or sick animals.
