Puppy set on fire
DALLAS - Dallas police believe someone killed a puppy by lighting it on fire Tuesday night in east Oak Cliff.
A witness said she was driving in the 2000 block of South Corinth Road about 11 p.m. when she saw the dog burning in the middle of the street.
"A small brown dog had been set on fire and possibly ran over by a vehicle," according to a police report. "The dog's body was black from the fire."
A crew from Dallas Fire-Rescue was dispatched to extinguish the flames, but the puppy couldn't be saved.
Police have yet to determine a suspect; the witness said she didn't see anyone in the area at the time.
Animal cruelty investigators are looking into the case. Anyone with information can contact Dallas Animal Services at 214-670-8246.
