LANCASTER – Lancaster’s animal shelter is rounding up pets that were lost or left at home during Tuesday’ storm.

When the storm hit in most people were at work and didn’t get to find shelter for their pets.

While covering the aftermath of the storm, News 8 discovered at least two dogs that were wondering around neighborhoods.

The city only has two animal control workers so

“There was all the debris and everything, so ever since we’ve been out her, it’s been hard to find them,” said Jason Renfroe, Lancaster Animal Services. “A lot of them are running loose, confused because their yards that were here are not there no more.”

The goal is to reunite the animals with their owners.

Lancaster residents looking for pets should go to Lancaster Animal Services located at 690 East Main Street.

The agency is also in need of blankets, doggie bowls and food.
