DALLAS — It's the day that fans of Edward and Bella have been waiting for.

"New Moon," the second film in the "Twilight" series, opened Friday at theaters around the world.

Some North Texans stayed up late to catch the midnight showing of the vampire movie, and it sounds like it did not disappoint the target audience of teenage girls.

"I think it's probably the best love story ever written, and there's really something in it for everyone," one teen told News 8 at a Dallas movie theater.

"It was so good! It was much better than the first one," gushed another young woman, directing special attention to  one of the actors: "Taylor Lautner — hot!"

Industry experts say "New Moon" will be an instant blockbuster, easily earning more than $100 million during its opening weekend.
