DALLAS — Big Tex was getting his boots shined on Sunday, so you probably know what that means.
The State Fair of Texas is just around the corner.
We caught the fair's king-size mascot undressed and still disassembled on Sunday. He's probably a little embarrassed, but officials were busy laying out his yellow western shirt and Dickie's denim jeans.
This year, Big Tex will sport his traditional uniform while towering over a waterfall.
Last-minute preparations continue on the Midway and at the food booths. If you have an insatiable hankering for a corny dog, you can satisfy that need starting this Friday, September 24, when the fair opens for its three-week run at Fair Park in Dallas.
