DALLAS — Tens of thousands of patriotic Texans gathered at Fair Park in Dallas Wednesday night for the quintessential celebration of our nation's independence.
A free fireworks spectacular lit up the night sky on the Fourth of July, and it was broadcast live on WFAA Channel 8.
People began filing in to Fair Park five hours before the show, many taking advantage of reduced rate admission to the museums, to listen to musical performances or to take in the "dancing waters" at the Esplinade Fountain.
"The freedom to celebrate... where else can you go and do that? To just have the enjoyment and to have the camaraderie of family and friends and the show's been great," said Army veteran Steve Kraus.
"I am so thankful and so grateful for everyone that is overseas fighting for us now and that has fought for us in the past," said Keicha Miskell. "It's just amazing."
