Parents, plan to give your kids a good breakfast in the morning to prepare them for State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) testing, the state-mandated exams for public schools.
The tests are important and intense, and have been controversial.
State law says schools are not allowed to promote students in the 5th through 8th grades to the next level if they fail the STAAR test, but currently there still is not enough money in state coffers to cover a state-funded tutoring program.
Could you pass the STAAR test? Quiz yourself.
