Plano ISD superintendent, board member resign

PLANO, Texas -- Board members with the Plano Independent School District discussed Tuesday the resignation of the district's superintendent as well as the resignation of a newly elected board member.

According to the board's agenda, members discussed the "consideration and possible action regarding resignation of board member Greg Myer" and "consideration and possible action regarding resignation of, and actions related to resignation of" Superintendent Dr. Brian Binggeli. 

In his resignation letter, Myer, who was elected to the board in 2017, cited "personal reasons" for his resignation.

Superintendent Dr. Brian Binggeli hasn't given his reason for leaving. He's been superintendent for Plano ISD for about two years. The board decided his last day at work will be Jan. 31, 2018.

The school board also plans to discuss the appointment of Sara Bonser as interim superintendent.

The board will meet at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
