Back to school resources for parents of North Texas students

NORTH TEXAS – Believe it or not, but the summer's hanging by a thread –– and come August 27, that'll get snipped by the school year's start date, which is nearly universally honored by area districts.

With the myriad obligations parents must accomplish prior to that date, we've listed some resources to help check –– and double check –– that your child is ready for his or her big day. Just below this brief text jumble will be an alphabetical list of North Texas Independent School Districts.

It's fairly self-explanatory, but here you'll find academic calendars, enrollment information, aid and menus for school lunches, bus schedules and more. Some school districts already had this information grouped together on a handy parent page. Others make you search a bit for it.

So, if a school district only has a link to a general page, you should be able to find all you need there. Others will have links to each page to help out parents and students.

One thing you'll also see under each school district is a link to the corresponding county's immunization page. If your district has not provided this information to you, here's the state's breakdown of what vaccinations and immunizations your child will need to get before the 27th.

Follow up with your school district if any of the information at that link is unclear. And if we overlooked a district, feel free to tell us so in the comments and we'll put it in the list.
