They're looking for a new school superintendent in Little Elm.

The Board of Trustees in the Denton County community unanimously approved a "voluntary separation agreement" with Superintendent Lynne Leuthard at a special meeting Monday night.

Little Elm ISD director of human resources Matthew Gutierrez was named acting superintendent  while the search begins for a new leader of the district that serves more than 6,600 students.

Leuthard, who has more than three decades of experience as an educator, was hired by Little Elm ISD in 2010. She came from Galveston ISD, where she had also been superintendent of schools. Leuthard earlier worked  in the Clear Lake ISD.

No reason was given for Leuthard's decision to resign.
