Lake Worth students improve 25 percent in STAAR testing

TARRANT COUNTY -- Local fifth and eighth graders showed slight gains in math during the first round of STAAR testing.

Districts received preliminary results in the Tarrant County area. Lake Worth students showed the most improvement. Seventy-nine percent of Lake Worth students passed this year. That's a 25 percent increase.

According to state law, fifth and eighth graders must pass the STAAR test to move on to the next grade.
