Funeral set for Royse City educator who died on ski vacation

ROYSE CITY — Residents and students in Royse City are mourning the loss of their high school's assistant principal.

Craig Bowers died Wednesday during a spring break ski vacation at Crested Butte, Colorado.

School superintendent Randy Hancock said Bowers, 36, was a respected administrator with a bright future. Hancock said Bowers' goal was to make a difference in the lives of students.

Bowers' funeral is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Family Fellowship, 401 Division Street, in Greenville. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
