FORNEY -- Forney students, teachers and staff were back in classes at the elementary school after it took a beating during last week's tornado.

Crosby Elementary school reopened for the first time since the tornado rolled right through the Diamond Creek subdivision.

The twister did not hit the school directly, but high winds broke windows, tore off parts of the roof and broke several air conditioning units.

School officials told News 8 all the repairs were made last week and the building, inspected.

Teachers helped students focus on getting back to their routine. Counselors were on hand to help students with questions or concerns after last week’s storms.
