DeSOTO - Four DeSoto high school students are under arrest for a fight that left two teachers injured.

The students attend Desoto's freshman campus. The four got into a scuffle inside a classroom just after 9 a.m. Thursday.

A female teacher tried to break up the fight, but was knocked to the ground and suffered a minor head injury and was hospitalized. Another male teacher hurt his back during the altercation, and left school to be checked out by his doctor.

Police believe the brawl stemmed from another fight involving students that happened Wednesday night, about a block away from campus.

DeSoto police patrolled the area Thursday to try and prevent any further problems.

District officials sent a letter home telling parents about the incidents and warning students that fighting will not be tolerated.

The students involved could face assault charges.
