FRISCO - When you think of Frisco Schools, you think Dr. Rick Reedy. But his 37 years with the district are coming to an end.
Reedy announced Tuesday he is retiring as superintendent of the Frisco ISD, a position he's held for 16 years.
This school year is Reedy's 37th in Frisco ISD, and his 43rd in education, according to a district release.
“Working in this school district all these years has been a gift,” Dr. Reedy said in the release. “No one could have ever been as fortunate as I have been in being allowed to work with the good people of FISD.”
He said it was a difficult decision, and he will stay in his post until a replacement is found. The FISD Board of Trustees will meet in the near future to develop a plan for selecting a successor, according to the district.
