Driver arrested for intoxication manslaughter in crash that killed passenger

DALLAS - A man was arrested for intoxication manslaughter after a crash that left a passenger in his car dead Sunday morning in far north Dallas.

Carlos Izzagerra was speeding westbound in the 6100 block of Beltline Road around 7 a.m. when he left the roadway, crossed the eastbound lanes and hit a tree head-on.

Jeffery Jenneman, who was riding in the front passenger seat of Izzagerra’s Honda CRV, was killed in the crash. Izzagerra was taken to the hospital and arrested.

Images captured by News 8 at the scene showed the car severely damaged and on its side. Debris was scattered across the road.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Police said it was the 113th traffic fatality of the year in Dallas.
