Thursday WFAA's "Money Saver" Laura Thornquist talked about entertainment and a little bit of luxury. Thornquist showed viewers how to live like the rich and famous on a not-so-rich budget.

Many plan to get on the road or fly for the holidays. Often, last-minute deals can really save you big. Make sure and check the daily deal sites where many offer vacations at discounted costs.

Here are some websites I use to get the most out of my money:

Orbitz has a low price guarantee. If you book a qualifying pre-paid hotel and find a lower price, they'll refund the difference and give you a $50 discount. They also have a low-fare promise. Travelocity and Expedia also offer similar price guarantees.

Kayak is another place I use to find the best airline, hotel and car deals all in one place. Make sure and buy discounted restaurant vouchers at the place you will visit; you can find those on daily deal sites in the city you visit and restaurant.com, which is currently offering $25 gift certificates for $2.

Also, check out discount gift card sites like Plastic Jungle or City Deals, where you can get a percentage off restaurants and entertainment.

Finally, map out your trip in advance if you're driving and find the cheapest gas stations on your route. You can use sites like GasBuddy.com and GasPriceWatch.com.

For those of us staying in town, you have a couple of fun free options this weekend.

First of all, who doesn't love free movie passes? Right now, you can get free Studio Movie Grill tickets on Facebook through December 15. Simply like them on Facebook then click on the"Are you a fan" tab. They are giving away 10 passes every hour.

And here's a fun one, a chance to drive like the rich and famous. Platinum Motorcars' Ultimate Toy Drive is at West Village this Saturday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Bring a new unwrapped toy to benefit Bryan's House and you can drive either a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin or Bentley for free. Of course, it will be a pre-determined route and a chaperoned drive.
